A beautifully vibrant antique plate featuring the imari-style 'Amherst Japan' pattern. The most well-known manufacturer of Amherst Japan plates is the British ceramics manufacturer Minton, however judging by the backstamp, this plate could also have been produced by Charles Meigh of Hanley.
No chips or cracks but crazing is visible throughout.
