King GEORGE VI and Queen Elizabeth Coronation 1937 CUP, by Hughes, Longport, England
A commemorative vintage piece in great condition for its age. This unusual item (a cup, not a mug!) is just over 2.75in in diameter at the rim, widening a little below before tapering to 2.25in in diameter at the foot, and 4.25in tall. No cracks or crazing, but it has a small chip at the rim of the foot - please check pictures.
With Order of the Garter crest at the front with border around the monarchs' effigies on red background saying "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense". Banner underneath says "Dieu et Mon Droit". Words around the rim say "May 1937 - Coronation of King Geoger VI and Queen Elizabeth". With wreath and crown at the back with monogram inside saying "GE" .
