Vintage Traditional Japanese Hand-Painted Geisha Pagoda China Saucer 5.25"

A vintage Japanese saucer featuring a hand painted motif depicting a countryside scene where a girl walks with a traditionally dressed Japanese woman, possibly a geisha, against a pagoda and some trees in the background. Made of translucent china and finished with a hand painted overglaze.

Piece is in great structural condition for a vintage item. No chips, cracks or crazing. There is considerable loss to what once was the hand applied gilding.

Marked in red with an identified mark on the underside, though we have been unable to verify its meaning.
